“We approached our building project with a degree of trepidation - everyone seems to know of at least one person's unhappy experience with building. However, we need not have worried. In J & S Contracting we found a builder with fantastic attention to detail and a builder who cared more about getting our project right than rushing on to the next job. Our project involved a new room, a new custom designed carport and enclosing an existing carport which was part of the existing structure and attached to our home. Because our house is made from earth bricks and very large timber posts, we needed a builder who could work with us and our design and the theme of the existing structure - a stock-standard, high-volume, builder was never going to meet our needs. When choosing a builder, we were concerned that our ideas may not be taken on board, and that anything different would be considered "too difficult". We were looking for a builder that was willing to think outside the box, listen to ideas, be interested in the process and be willing to work within our budget or suggest alternatives.Overall we found the Preliminary Agreement which covered the designing/planning/costing process really good. We appreciated Justin's interest in our design and appreciated his effort in sourcing different materials and products. We felt listened to and felt comfortable asking for different options.
